The Cannes Yachting Festival is one of the rare industry events where a serious buying trip can still feel like a pleasurable day on the water. The 2026 edition is scheduled for 8 to 13 September, with the show spread between the Vieux Port and Port Canto. That split is useful rather than inconvenient: the Vieux Port concentrates many of the larger motor yachts, while Port Canto creates a natural home for sailing yachts, brokerage and the quieter conversations that are easier to have away from the busiest pontoons.

Arrive with a short list. A show this large rewards preparation, but it punishes an itinerary that is too full. Choose three priorities: one yacht to inspect closely, one builder or design language to understand, and one conversation about ownership costs. For a new build, ask what is included in the quoted specification, what is an owner option and what the expected delivery milestones are.

Plan practical details early. Wear shoes that are easy to remove, carry a small notebook and record the same five observations for every yacht: condition, layout, equipment, operating profile and the question you still need answered. When you return home, those consistent notes will be more valuable than a gallery of disconnected photographs.
